April Tears of Joy at Mountain & Vine

Mae and Weldon’s April celebration at Mountain & Vine Vineyards and Winery was set in a warm spring glow. Delicate baby blue, teal and seafoam bridesmaid’s gowns, sweet flower girls in white and handsome groomsmen in black tuxedos set a picturesque scene against the natural flowing countryside. Low whisps of April clouds floated lightly over vineyard rows and rich green dense forests.

The couple gathered on an elevated grassy hillside under a custom wood arbor dressed in an elaborate floral installation as guests gazed out over the 318-acre estate winery, breathing in quiet valley beauty at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Talented Charlottesville wedding planners with Little Acorn Events and Exchange Events orchestrated the seamless day, from the hilltop ceremony to the waterfront pavilion cocktail hour where guests enjoyed Mountain & Vine wines and photos in front of the spouting fountain before moving into the open Barrel Room reception hall for dinner, toasts and dancing.

Rain sprinkles and deep green estate backdrops hugged the wedding party as they formed a festive parade line, crossing the foot bridge from one venue to the next. Good Vibes Garden florists crafted a towering spring bloom entry installation, welcoming guests to the reception space.

Wedding photographers We are the Rylands gracefully captured the property's natural bucolic backdrops, stone steps and reflective pond. Photos stopped time on the bountiful grapevine rows, the sun peeking out from behind the clouds and the peaceful estate’s natural ease and beauty.

Decor and rentals by Paisley & Jade and Rent E-Quip allowed for a charming backyard buffet-style sunset dinner of paella, beef, green beans and more under strung bistro lighting. White and powder blue linens and inviting country lounge spaces sprinkled throughout made for a comfortable and familial aesthetic.

Dried preserved orange slices climbed a beautiful three-tier white wedding cake by Maliha Creations and the couple shared a slice with brass goblets of bubbly before moving on to the petite groom’s cake shaped like Doctor Who. A robin’s egg blue vintage rotary phone served as a leave-a-message guestbook and his and hers fringed white and black umbrellas added panache. Mini glowing flower crowns, glow sticks and tiny tambourines invited guests to the playful dance floor where the couple twirled and laughed through the night.
